Thanks for the guidance. I've always wanted to have at least one apple tree. Deer and rabbits are a big problem in my area though. Have you been able to find anything (other than a big fence) that is effective at keeping them away? I keep on seeing a bunch of good stuff about defence. People say it’s the best stuff they’ve tried.
I just found it online here:

Really enjoyed your talk at Bordines this past weekend.
I have 2 and 1/2 Hydrangeas.(one is really iffy) and 1 Endless Summer that does really well. My Annabelle, moved twice, has in some years produces over 60 blooms. I did the cardboard box(computer moniter, not TV) 2 yrs ago and was rewarded with well over 40 blooms. Now this year I tried the "wrap" that you mentioned last fall. Not so sure it's going to work. When I took the wrap off, the tips are pretty crispy. The only problem that I had with the cardboard/leaf plus a burlap wrap, was it was a very tedious job to clean up in the spring.

On another note, my daughter, who spent her college years at Bordines, was not sure that she would fine anything new from your talk.....she did and even said you should, either write a book or do "stand-up!!!!
